Paris Fashion Week Spring 2013. Roland Mouret

Paris Fashion Week Spring 2013. Roland Mouret

Known for his infamous or famous “Galaxy Dress” worn by Victoria Beckham and other celebrities on the red carpet.

What would Paris Fashion Week Spring 2013 bring I wonder?

Sleek lines, Peter pan style collars, figure hugging, flowing, folds upon folds, an origami work of art !

Leather designs – split skirts, Stylish jackets and ………yes the leather trouser is back!

It’s all in the detail. A fabulous collection that was definitely focused on bringing out the best of our figures. So stylish, classy with a hint of sassy. These pieces were just perfect.

I loved the deep emerald green, rich brown and vermillion colours, very autumnal.

Then There Was The Oscar After-Party

There will be some sleepy-eyed celebrities this morning! Time to party! Whether, at Vanity Fair or Elton John (AIDS Foundation) or both. Let’s have a peek of a few more gowns on the party circuit.

Jennifer Lopez continued with her J Lo, low look, very daring, by Zuhair Murad, as was her first gown of the evening that caused a little controversy! Did she or didn’t she have a faux pas moment when presenting with Cameron Diaz?

There was no doubt that this almost rich burnished copper gown was stunning. But, I kind of wanted to turn it round though…and have the V at the back. Oh! I can hear my Grandma’s words ringing in my ears! ‘A lady should know how much to show, always keep something back.’

David & Victoria Beckham. Victoria wearing one of her own designs. I was not in love with this simple strap-less gown, maybe it was the colour, it seemed to make her look a little washed out.

Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes. Katie wore an almost Grecian dark blue embellished Ellie Saab gown.

One of the most hottest couples of the moment, action man Jason Statham keeps a tight hold on his model girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Rosie wore a flowing tangerine gown by Antonio Beradi. So stylish and effortless.

Burlesque star Dita Von Teese, in a pale blush pink chiffon gown with armour-like embellishment detailing, by Jenny Packham. To compliment her gown a bejewelled clutch, silver Bulgari jewellery and a deep berry red lip complete her party look.

Nadine Coyle of former Girls Aloud fame. A simple figure hugging golden gown.

Lily Collins, made a grand entrance in this nude floor-length gown with blue embroidery detail from Monique Lhuillier’s pre-autumn/winter 2012 collection.

January Jones wears Wes Gordon, in pine green and rust brown. Completely different from any other gown this evening. There was something about this flirty little number, maybe it was the forties style hair?

Oh No Ladies: A Tennis trio but what were they thinking!

First of all; The Williams sisters

Serena wore a Bright Yellow fishtail design – reminiscent of the Oscars statue!

Venus however, looked more stylish in a cerise and purple gown. Was that a peek of her matching underwear I see?.

Maria Sharapova - such a stunning girl, but she obviously thought she was auditioning for White Swan!

After party Champagne anyone?

Victoria Beckham AW 2012 RTW Collection – A family Affair

Sleek, sophisticated, slender and most definitely figure hugging. Victoria Beckham produced her ‘Fall Ready to Wear Collection’ at the New York Public Library, yesterday 12th February. Supporting his wife, David Beckham sat next to Anna Wintour on the front row.

A far cry from the cute scalloped edge dresses and prints of the SS 12 collection. This collection was all about rib jersey, canvases, necklines, black python collars, skinny belts, chunky flat boots, skater/cheerleader skirts with an accent on sporty – which seems to be a common theme across the designer spectrum. Colours: neutrals, blacks, vivid red and sludgy greens – to remind you of falling leaves and earthy autumnal colours.

So ladies, is it now time to hit the gym?

Jean Jeanie

Not just the title of a David Bowie song!

What is the item of clothing that we all have a pair of ? (in some cases quite a few pairs)……… Jeans of course. A staple item for all our closets, no matter what age or shape you are.

Todays jeans have taken on a life of their own. Not just in style and design, but in colour and patterns. No longer should we associate jeans with just denim. There is more to a pair of jeans than the parallel Levi style.

Here are a few of my choices.

Marc by Marc Jacobs 70′s Style $228 (Shopbop)

Citizens of Humanity Mandy Floral Roll Up Jeans $189. I adore these, just so cute!

IRO Jayrod Skinny Jean $246 in Saffron

AG Adigriano Goldschmied Slit Cigarette Jeans. Ikat Blue. $185

Rag & Bone White Bell Jean $176

Victoria Beckham Power skinny Jeans $240 in Poppy

What to wear with them? Here are a couple or three examples.

Fabulous Knits: Dolce Vita Lucille Sweater $198 - makes me almost want to get out my knitting needles!

T By Alexander Wang Two Tone Tunic $135.

Melanie Birger Roloy Poncho $395

Spring into spring with jeans and accessories. There is no time like the present!

Use your imagination, add a pop of colour – bright, bold, neon, acid, stripes or prints! Whether, sweaters, shirts, tee’s or jackets. Heels, sandals or boots. The list is endless. I cant wait to get my hands on a pair or two of these fabulous jeans plus the tops!

What are your favourite brands or style of jean?
