‘Yester-Years’: Montgomery Ward Catalogue 1930′s

My friend came across this a few weeks ago while she was perusing the internet.

She immediately thought of me and ‘stylebyladyg’ blog!

This is something post war, a little bit of history in the making maybe.

My kind of prices she said….so true

Look very carefully, do you see anything that resembles today’s style/fashion/trends?

MONTGOMERY WARD CATALOG – 1930′s

Not sure about the bloomers, but look at the dresses, a future fish-tale gown maybe! Remember the red carpet Golden Globes and The Oscars? How about TV series such as Downton Abbey

Oxford bag trousers… Palazzo pants…The Long and the short of it!

Check out My Wardrobe

Oh these corsets are something like the spanx  of today. What about today’s support bras?

Flats, Oxfords, Brogues.  Do these seem familiar?

OMG…..The fridge and freezer! Go have a look at what you have in your kitchen! Where is the wine fridge?

These pictures made me smile. Although before my time, I found them fascinating

What is your take on these pictures from ’Yester-Years’ and the Montgomery Ward Catalogue from the 1930′s. Is there a correlation from yester-year to today’s trends?
