NYFW Spring 2013. RTW by Rachel Zoe

NYFW Spring 2013. RTW by Rachel Zoe

From New York Fashion Week. My choice today is Rachel Zoe.

Why was this collection on my wish list? I think you will make your own mind up about that once you have viewed her spring 2013 ready to wear collection.

Femme fatale gangster style. Monochromatic, sophisticated pants suit.

I love the mix and match items that will take you easily from day to night. Sequins with shorts, slashed necked bare shoulder dresses, knits, denim, sheers and satin. Minty candy stripes and leather. Accessories, hats are a must but I am seriously adoring the belted waist clutch bag.

Fabulous collection, I am lusting after a few pieces here. To view the entire collection go to style.com

New York Fashion Week. Tory Burch Spring 2013 RTW

New York Fashion Week. Tory Burch Spring 2013 RTW

One of the highlights of New York Fashion Week today has to be in my opinion – Tory Burch.

Tory Burch referred to her Spring 2013 collection as the wardrobe of a “stylish magpie who picks up special pieces while traveling around the world and always mixes them with classic sportswear.”

Her collection was an eclectic mix of fabrics, textiles and designs, truly feminine with a hem line to suit all. From shorts to midi/maxi length and anything in between.

Spring time prints with matching accessories, inspired by nature.

I love this fitted bodice dress with full skirt in yellows and mustard. Note the flat pump with contemporary indian style wooden jewelry.

Elegant, tailored pencil skirt with embellished top and fabulously chique gold loafers.

Navaho Indian, meets city hippy style

Girlie pink 50′s style ballet pump dress, with simple white loafers and once again indian inspired textured jewelry.

Classy Preppy style knits, I adore this twist on the classic knitted suit, with a feminine take on the english cricket style jumper. Note the variations on the heeled loafer. Loafers and slipper style flats are definitely the style of shoes that you will want to add to your wardrobe for the spring.

Stripes, patterns and tie dye.

Hemline fringing/tassels/tapestry add that little touch of hippy chic. Note once again that patterns are repeated on the footwear

Sheer elegance. I adore the matching arm candy!

NYFW Fall 2012: Oscar de la Renta

If we associate Oscar de la Renta with red carpet romantic, princess like evening gowns. Then you will not be disappointed with this collection.

However, the catwalk did reveal a little more at this years New York Fashion Week, AW 12 collection.

Internationally known in the 1960s as one of the couturiers to dress Jackie Kennedy. Part of this collection indeed reminded me of Jacqueline Kennedy, from twin sets to bouffant hair and jewelled headbands.

There were pastel colours of palest coral and baby blue, amongst; embellishments, lace, feathers, brooches, tweeds and fishnet stockings (yes, guys they are back!)

And of course not to disappoint, fabulously swishy, tulle and taffeta evening wear.

Fairytale meets stylish chique. Every woman’s fantasy collection, including myself!

What would be your favourite piece from this collection?

Victoria Beckham AW 2012 RTW Collection – A family Affair

Sleek, sophisticated, slender and most definitely figure hugging. Victoria Beckham produced her ‘Fall Ready to Wear Collection’ at the New York Public Library, yesterday 12th February. Supporting his wife, David Beckham sat next to Anna Wintour on the front row.

A far cry from the cute scalloped edge dresses and prints of the SS 12 collection. This collection was all about rib jersey, canvases, necklines, black python collars, skinny belts, chunky flat boots, skater/cheerleader skirts with an accent on sporty – which seems to be a common theme across the designer spectrum. Colours: neutrals, blacks, vivid red and sludgy greens – to remind you of falling leaves and earthy autumnal colours.

So ladies, is it now time to hit the gym?

London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week opened its doors yesterday, hot on the heels of
New York Fashion Week.

Opening the event at Somerset House in central London, London Mayor Boris Johnson highlighted the accolade recently bestowed on the city by a leading US consultancy as ”the fashion capital of the world”.

The opener comes a day after New York Fashion week was closed by Marc Jacobs, whose widely anticipated move to replace John Galliano as the next
creative director for Christian Dior is causing a buzz in the fashion world.

The latest London Fashion Week, which includes 100 catwalk shows and 200 exhibitions, showcases women’s and menswear collections for Spring-Summer 2012, when London will be in the throes of hosting the Olympic Games.
The unveiling of the spring and summer 2012 collections — this time including a
show by Tom Ford, the latest A-plus fashion star to embrace London’s catwalk —
marks an unofficial end to London’s riot-torn, phone-hacked summer.

In a year when British designers have taken centre stage with the weddings of
Kate Middleton and Kate Moss, London is determined to capitalise on the mood and prove it can compete on a global platform.

Irish designer Paul Costelloe used his traditional role opening fashion week to show a series of short, flirtatious dresses, many in monochrome silver-gray with
well-patterned, subtle fabrics. The spring and summer 2012 collection was
offset by several bursts of color in impressive brocade dresses. Sophisicated swing coats matching skirts also in silky brocade.

A winning collection to open LFW.
