The Winter Sales Have Started.

A perfect time to hit the shops & stores. Why? because the sales have begun in earnest. That special dress or winter coat, those sky scraper heels or knee-high boots that you have had your eye on, but unable to afford. The winter sales could change all that and put those lust after pieces within your grasp.

Diesel, Zara, Madewell, Club Monaco, JCrew, Aldo…………….and so much more including the department stores. Bargains around every corner, just in time for New Years Eve. Discounts, reductions, closeouts, buy one get and second purchase at half price. Too much temptation?

Party dresses in abundance, metallics, embellishments, sequined or feathers. Time to glam up ladies and gentlemen.

What are you waiting for?

I don’t know about you but I am taking my christmas monies off to the sales. Will let you know what bargains I snaffle later!

Clarks Shoes - Spring/Summer Styles

As I was sauntering through the Mall the other day, I spied Clarks shoe shop.

Now Clarks and I have a long history. It began with the school uniform! I stopped for a Starbucks coffee, to recall my school day memories and the dreaded school uniform. I wondered if the school uniform I wore back in those days had changed at all?

Imagine: The school colours were Grey, Blue & Gold. The girls uniform was a black blazer, a gold/yellow stiff collared shirt with blue and gold striped tie, a pleated grey skirt (below knee), grey knee-length socks, and ’sensible’ black lace up shoes. Oh, I forgot something, a grey beret, complete with the school badge at the front. Did I mention we were taught by nuns?

I visited the school website to take a look at the students attire today.

Hardly any change in style since my school days.

Thinking about it, I wore a uniform for most of my professional life….more about that in another post.

So, where do Clarks shoes come into the equation? Those, then awful unfashionable black lace up shoes, that were so on trend last autumn/winter!

Remember the ‘Dusty Clay’ coloured patent pair of Oxfords I bought in the fall from Madewell?

Shoes Glorious Shoes! What Is Your Style?

Now you all know that I fell ‘head over heels’ with a flat oxford shoe earlier this year. I have to say they were an investment.

I also love Ballet Flats. Stylish, smart and comfortable.

Salvatore Ferragamo Varina Bow Logo Flats $395. These are the Bees Knees in flats, apart from Chanel of course.

But I am a high heeled Ladyg at heart.

From My Closet: ACNE Metropolitan Heels in Deep Amarone. Adore these beauties, and the colour….. lovely!

Discovering these flats by Steve Madden, I am undecided. So, I need your help!

Travelling with Style

Travelling whether by car, rail, boat or plane, can be a combination of pleasure or pain, depending on your experience.

I don’t know about you but I never seem to get it right for the journey. What to wear? A travellers dilema. This time I am determined to be prepared for our long haul overnight flight from the USA to the UK.

I intend to look stylish while being comfortable in Coach. (cabin that is not the brand!).

Leather and Lace

A definite must have for the winter is leather, whether it be in the form of a shearling, a biker jacket, leggings or a skirt.
