Does it all depend on what your plans are for New Years Eve?

Just because you havent received a royal invite doesn’t excuse you from not making the effort to get off the couch! Cinderella shall go to the ball.

Get out that little black dress – you must have one in your wardrobe?

First make a list of a few treats for New Years Eve. Whether, you have a date with your beau, friends or family – hopefully not on your own. However, If you are going solo this New Years Eve, you can still celebrate with style.

Set off the evening by getting into the mood, go and get ready, starting with a long bubble bath or radiant shower, and then treat yourself to…..

  • A manicure and a pedicure
  • A bottle of bubbly – Prosecco or Champagne
  • Dark chocolate – have you tried Lindt with sea salt?

Dress yourself in…

  • Your favourite underwear
  • That special perfume
  • A simple piece of jewelry. Pearls pehaps?

And so to dressing for the evening with style of course. Every woman should have that one dress in her wardrobe – no I don’t mean a wedding dress. More importantly a dress for all occasions. Whether, it is a LBD, LRD, or the new colour for 2013 – allegedly Green! It doesn’t have to be expensive. The secret is to make it look like you really made the effort. It’s how you wear the outfit not how the outfit wears you.

Ok, they maybe slightly past their sell by date. But part with them……..I dont think so yet.



This Week's Style Icon; Diane von Furstenberg

Among a handful of successful women fashion designers, Diane von Furstenberg  (born 1946) made a name for herself when she devised a simple jersey wrap dress.  She became internationally acclaimed for her no-nonsense, affordable clothing  that acknowledged the modern woman as both beautiful and career-minded.

These are some of my personal favourite dresses from DVF.

The New Jeanne printed wrap dress is the epitome of timeless chic. The dress that started it all, it’s as fresh, flattering and wearable today as it was then. Pair with a feminine heel for an easy office to cocktails transition. With a shirt collar, self-tie belt and long sleeves. In silk jersey. $345.
