Whether, this collection was inspired by Cleopatra?, or the whole Egyptian era, certainly ancient Egypt has been reinvented in the Topshop Unique SS12 collection, but with a modern almost retro twist.

I visited Egypt and Cairo a few years ago. Fascinated by Egyptian history, in awe of the Pyramids, including The Sphynx and Tutankhamun. The Cairo museum is full of unbelievable artifacts and so much history. I felt transported into a different lifetime.
I can see the resemblance in this SS12 collection by Unique, from the hieroglyphics to the coiled cobra prints – waiting to strike. There is an abundance of gold on gold, sheers, embellishments and so much more.
