Viva Las Vegas

Viva Las Vegas

Although my days and evenings were pretty much taken up with Arbonne GTC, my hubby and I did manage a little time to visit a couple of the phenomenal hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.

I loved these 2 windows in Caesars Palace. Shopping heaven I have to say. From High Street to High End. You certainly need a little extra cash.

Ted Baker. The male ‘dummy’ in this picture had amazing rotational hip movement.

We had such a great day in 100 degree temperatures, ending up having lunch at Planet Hollywood in Gordon Ramsey’s BurGR bar. The best BurGR in town.

Our fantastic trip was nearing the end. Hubby surprised me with dinner at the MGM Grand at the selective French restaurant of Joel Robuchon. 3 Michelin stars, fine dining in opulent surroundings. Champagne chilling. My palette tingling at the thought of a food experience I would never forget.

Kitchen Decor & Project Update

Kitchen Decor & Project Update

And so the saga continues.

With the installation of the base cabinets finally completed it was time for Phase 2 of our kitchen project as the upper wall cabinets have arrived.

The kitchen island will have to wait until later in the year unfortunately.

I  painted the kitchen in the meantime so when all the kitchen cupboards are installed I would have just some ‘touching up’ to do. We will then have the splash-back tiles to choose.

The colours chosen for the kitchen are Riviera Sand on the bay window wall with Popcorn Ball – both eggshell by Behr Home Depot, sunny and warm colours to complement the granite countertops and the maple cabinetry.

As we appear to be on a role with window dressing we decided to replace the previous owners kitchen curtains which were kitchen frills and cafe style, to plain simple white faux wood blinds.

The colours chosen also work well with the connecting sitting room.

A Perfect Day For A Summer Wedding

A Perfect Day For A Summer Wedding

Hubby and I were invited by our neighbours to their wedding here in Georgia at the weekend. Not matter where you live in the world the weather can make or ruin this special day, particularly if you have planned an outdoor wedding. Is it a woman thing why we women love a wedding? Romance, Love, that Cinderella moment, the dress, the vows.

Tissues at the ready, waterproof mascara and a pair of sunglasses are essential handbag items.

The venue chosen for the wedding was The Conservatory at Waterstone Ackworth Georgia.

The Conservatory’s interior is a unique mix of modern loft and rustic french country, with exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and two levels of seating giving this building the perfect ambiance for a wedding or special celebration.

DSC01441I loved the atmosphere of the venue chosen, so much character, although I did have fears about slipping on the wooden stairs in my heels (we were seated upstairs). But all went well, no embarrassing moments.

DSC01442The ceremony was to take place outdoors, a perfect sunny day.

Ladyg is on somewhat of a role. After my self-imposed shopping embargo I have had an epiphany. While hubby and I were at the North Georgia Outlet Mall just browsing, until that is we came across Jones of New York. What can a girl do surrounded by bargains?

I was hankering after some casual trouser,s see previous post – pattern overload, plus a pair of smart linen trousers.. My search for a pair of linen pants will continue unfortunately, as on this shopping expedition I did not find any at all. Not to be deterred I turned my attention to a dress.

There is something about a dress. I favour the Lady Diana/Jackie Kennedy-Onasis timeless look, clean simple lines that exudes sophistication and style. I was on the hunt for a classic short-sleeved dress to hide my recently acquired bingo wings – I am working hard on my arms at the gym but it is a battle. Of course all I could see were sleeveless dresses, no short sleeves in sight.

I am addicted to the little black dress. This time however, I wanted colour. After buying the zany patterned pants, I was looking for something different. A floral dress caught my eye but alas my size was not available.

This dress caught my eye. To the changing room I departed with a variety of dresses in all shapes, colours and sizes. Now normally this particular dress would not have appealed to me.Today however, it screamed buy me.

Couldn’t resist the necklace and matching bangle. Peep toe leather shoes from my closet - Nine West .

DSC01424

I love the design, of this dress.  A plethora of colour, bright and vibrant. It reminded me of Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat, but in burnt oranges.

Accessories wouldn’t be an issue.

On the way to the check out my husband pointed to another dress. “Don’t you like that dress?” I had seen it but, with it being black I had dismissed it.

DSC01420

The classic LBD, never to be underestimated or understated. Perfect with my Jimmy Choo low heeled court shoes.

Embellished neckline. I couldn’t resist. Thank you Jones of New York.

Next stop – CAbi Factory. Was I tempted in there too?
