What Shall I Wear? Saturday Evening Dining Out!

What Shall I Wear? Saturday Evening Dining Out!

Yes, I know we all face this dilemma, a wardrobe full of clothes or so it appears until it comes to going out somewhere special.

As I have recently broadcast on a previous post about consignment/thrift/vintage stores. I had a closet overhaul therefore, I  sent quite a lot of my clothes to the consignment store. My wardrobe is looking a little sparse of late.

Although I bought this dress last year, I have only worn it on one occasion, that is because, the style is fitted and although it has a couple of gentle pleats across the ‘tummy’ region, I feel a little vulnerable ! I do love the colours though.

I also think I bought this dress after a bingeing exercise spurt at the gym, so probably was a little more sylph like at the time, that is always a mistake to go shopping when your weight is unrealistically below your normal average. Lesson to brain in future.

However, I was pleasantly surprised that I could get into it and zip it up. Decision made.

What shall I wear? for saturday evening dining out with hubby and friends.

Dress London Times from Satoria Boutique in Marietta. Nude patent pumps, by Guess. Cuff also from Satoria. Decor at home – all my own designs!

Necklace a leaving gift from friends at Bradford Royal Infirmary, Maternity Unit.

Where were we heading? Shillings Restaurant, Marietta Square.

Marietta square was really buzzing, the atmosphere one of enjoyment with an outdoor Jazz concert evening in swing. There were picnics in the park, throngs of people everywhere who had arrived early to get the best pitch. A fantastic evening.

What do you think of the outfit?

Sequins and Denim

Sequins and Denim

LadyG and Mr SBLG (Stylebyladyg) were out and about the other evening.

Having just ordered our kitchen cabinets and feeling very excited, we decided to call for a glass of wine/beer to celebrate and possibly treat ourselves to some take out food. Washing  dishes after cooking at home using a small bowl and the kettle for hot water is not my idea of fun!

We called at RubyTuesday to relax and enjoy a drink and look at the menu.

I do enjoy the food there, the salad bar is so good. Plus the fact it is not expensive, which is always a bonus.

What did I wear?

Sequins and Denim

Do my boobs look big in this? I didn’t realise until this picture. Maybe its the way I am standing? Maybe it’s the hormones? Maybe……….

Sequin Top from Wallis old (UK). I love this tank, the sequins seem to change colour with the light, hues of silver, gold, brown and blue.

My denim jeans are from the CAbi Collection  - Bree Jeans now $98 (size 2 no less!). They are the most comfortable Jeans ever, seriously, these have to be the best pair of jeans that I own. Click above to view the Fall Collection.

Necklace a gift from my daughter and her boyfriend from their recent visit to Turkey. I needed to add the chain, but only had a silver chain in my jewelry box. I think it probably would suit a gold chain. What do you think?

Maybe I shouldn’t have had the second glass of wine!

Nine West shoes not seen in the pictures above.

Nine West “Flute” Pump $99

Nude shoes have to be a must for your wardrobe, they are so versatile no matter what the season.

Todays outfit is all about Sequins and Denim.

Do you have a favourite casual outfit, or a special pair of jeans?

Just Me & A Taste of My Style

A little taste of everything from my closet to my home!

My friend recently sent me this card, as you will see, she knows me quite well.

My son and daughter-in-law sent me this gorgeous scarf by Accessorize (UK) through the post recently.

In the back of my mind I picture Quaker or Amish. Can you see a resemblance? A lovely raspberry floral print mixed with antique lace and cute baby pompoms.

How would you wear it?

The weather here in Georgia has been a little chilly of late, not cold enough for a heavy winter coat. But certainly just the correct temperature for me to wear my last purchase from the UK (November 2011).

Shawl/Cape by NEXT – one of my favourite UK High Street Stores.

A little spring fever? I was attracted to this elegant dress from Pepperberry (sale)

I recently bought this dress online from Pepperberry. It’s an english size 10, (US 6) and designed for a curvy figure. It is a 50′s style dress, comes with a satin tie belt, softly patterned, cut to sit just above the waist (that’s where it sits on me and I have a short waist). This is not my normal style so I am still finding myself asking the question, does this suit my figure? I don’t have a curvy figure, my upper assets are the largest part of me, but my hips are small! A vase shape according to Trinny (Woodall) & Susannah (Constantine).

Just in case you were wondering where I take my pictures and where my mannequin resides in our current home….. Our guest bedroom

Blinds: Home Depot. Bed Frame, mattress, Lamp, small cushions & night-stand IKEA. Off white quilt and matching pillows: Bath, Bed & Beyond.

Enjoy your weekend my friends no matter where you are or what you maybe doing!

Knitwear – Not Just for Winter

Yesterday I was Out & About’ in Lennox Mall Buckhead.

Not looking for anything in particular, I came across the Zara sale. I spotted this cute ‘Aran‘ style sweater.

Zara sale reduced to $19.99 was previously $49.90. A short matching cardigan is also available.  I love to grab a bargain.

How versatile is this sweater?

Worn here with an Animal Print Satin Sheen Shirt – (my own from Chico’s last year)

Add Accessories.

Consider a maxi/midi or short skirt, jeans (denim or coloured) or wear over a print dress.

I then got to thinking about knitwear in general. Looking in my closet, I selected some of my personal favourites, now realizing how I have underestimated knitwear. From the humble sweater, to cardigans long or short, dresses, scarves etc. Some of my staple wardrobe items are knits!

Here are a couple more knitwear pieces from my closet.

Throw Over Capped Sleeve Cardigan/Poncho – from Next (uk)

Polo Sleeveless Knittted Dress INC (Macys)

I can not get enough of this Butterfly and Roses dress, it is so flattering. I bought this supercute dress from TOPSHOP before my move to the USA.

What is your favourite piece of knitwear? Where do you generally shop?
