There’s no place like home
I buried myself into refreshing my home, ready to put the house on the property market. Although there was not a lot of work to do as I really enjoyed looking at how I could change a room’s image by experimenting with colour, mood boards, paint techniques, fabrics, textures and design.
There is nothing more satisfying than looking at your own handy-work. However, I had to prepare for our move to the USA. So a major clear-out was necessary from attic to garage!
I had to make sure that the house looked inviting to prospective buyers.
I have a flair for home staging.
I decided to put my passion to use
You guessed it! Next step look for an online/part time interior design course. The National Design Acadamy. I chose as I could work from home.
This course I would recommend. The manual and DVD’s were so easy to understand, a tutor is assigned to each student.
My last assignment I researched thoroughly, I laid out my design with the help of perspective drawings and mood boards. The clients brief and budget had to be adhered to.
I chose an Art Deco theme with a modern approach.
A visit to Claridge’s Hotel in London (UK) evoked a sense of style for that era. I was truly inspired by the elegant decor . http://www.claridges.co.uk
